How Innerglyph works

Innerglyph looks up the Birth Card and Planetary Ruling Card or cards in its date chart using the month and day. Separate calculations then derive applicable daily, 52-day, and yearly readings.

01 · Date chart lookup

Birth Card

Your Birth Card identity is read from the reference chart row for your month and day.

Your Birth Card identity is read from the reference chart row for your month and day.

The chart row is keyed by month and day. The year is checked to make sure the date is valid; it does not change a standard Birth Card row. February 29 has its own chart entry.

For December 31, Joker is the Birth Card identity. It sits outside the standard 52-card catalog; the row separately lists Eight of Diamonds as its standard personality-card association and Planetary Ruling Card.

Worked example

02/17/1981 → Birth Card: Eight of Diamonds · Planetary Ruling Card: Five of Clubs

02 · Date chart lookup

Planetary Ruling Card

The Planetary Ruling Card comes from the date reference table, which maps each month/day row to its ruling card or cards.

The Planetary Ruling Card comes from the date reference table, which maps each month/day row to its ruling card or cards.

The Planetary Ruling Card or cards are also read from that date’s chart row. Innerglyph preserves the printed order and the chart’s relationship marks: “or” means alternatives, while “&” means the cards are paired.

The 52-day reading is a later calculation anchored to the first listed Planetary Ruling Card. That calculation does not create or replace the chart lookup.

What it anchors

The primary Planetary Ruling Card anchors the 52-day cycle.

03 · Separate calculation

Daily reading

For standard dates, the daily card is calculated from the row’s standard personality-card association and a birthday-anchored 52-card rotation.

For standard dates, the daily card is calculated from the row’s standard personality-card association and a birthday-anchored 52-card rotation.

For standard Birth Cards, Innerglyph starts the daily rotation from the row’s standard personality-card association. It advances through the 52-card catalog by elapsed UTC days since the most recent birthday anniversary.

Yearly Cards use a separate calendar-year calculation. The December 31 Joker row has no assigned daily or yearly result, while its chart-listed Eight of Diamonds Planetary Ruling Card still anchors the 52-day cycle.

The /daily experience needs a saved birthday to resolve a reading. If no birthday has been saved, it sends you back to the calculator first.

The prerequisite

Save a birthday first, then return to /daily for the current reading.
